Hunter Mari | Squimpish Pro Team
Hunter Mari is a member of the Squimpish Flies Pro Team, a group of fly tyers, anglers, guides, instructors, creators, and industry professionals who share their experience with the fly fishing community.
Once called "A Jungle Pirate" by the neighbor's kids, which he loved hearing after years in the NYC worksphere. Hunter Mari now resides in the Catskills for the fishing, with only 10 years of angling and fly tying experience. Hunter Mari, AKA (Sea Hunter), his traditional Catalonian name, has realized that some people need to fish, and others have to. Since a simple introduction, a few remote trips to Canada, moving to follow fishing, and the video work he does has taken priority in his life. He ties flies for all species he targets—from Lake Trout, Wild Browns, Striped Bass, Bluefish, Albies, Salmon, to Canadian Pike—with equal skill. He swears he will never outfish his Spanish relatives. Time will tell. Larger patterns, bigger fish, and longer unpaid expeditions are growing more important every day. Let the journey continue.
