PHILOSOPHY

To And For My Soul With Reverence...
I suppose that anyone can put a fly on a line and go fishing. But devotees of fly-fishing well know that its essence is greater than simply fishing with a fly; it is an art form deeply rooted in nature and in the human spirit.

Fly-fishing and fly-tying put me in touch with who I really am. They allow me the opportunity to exist without ego, free from the trappings of a complex, modern world at a particular moment of my life. This is not an escape for me but a foundation for me to live from.

Season to season, following the natural rhythms of nature... I see fly-fishing as the finger pointing to the moon, as the raft that ferries souls across the river.

After angling with or tying flies, when returning into this crazy life with thoughts or visions about a new fly, or hearing the sound of the waves in my head, or feeling the pull of the morning current in my body, or seeing the nose of a surface-feeding large trout firmly in my mind's eye... I feel at peace.

Fly-fishing allows me the opportunity to be a better person to all that I meet, for I know in my heart what is really important.
